History (the 1990's)
What we see coming from this talented pair today is a result of a longstanding musical union. The Sherlok & DJ Rubzcollaboration started back in the 90's when they formed a hip hop group, Wicked Mindz with fellow Australian MC, Troy. Wicked Mindz gained extensive nationwide exposure via commercial radio on the Austereo Network rating topper, Ugly Phil & Jackie O's Hot 30. Wicked Mindz also received nationwide coverage on ABC's Recovery program, hosted by Dylan Lewis. Dylan loved the performance so much that he added it to the shows live compilation CD, Ready For Transmission, making them the only unsigned act to feature on the album. Around the same time, they also did some work with the production team of RnB singer/actress Aaliyah before her tragic passing.
History (the early 2000's)
The early 2000's began the formation of group Scarz on 45, where Sherlok and Rubz had major input on the critically acclaimed debut album, Skin Graft. They received outstanding reviews in The Herald Sun, Sanity Mag, Beat Mag & several local Urban/Hip Hop street press. A selection of Skin Graft tracks were played on Triple J, RRR and PBS FM.
Now
Together they are also DJ & host of Australia's newest weekly online Reggae radio show, Reggae Knightz on www.myrnb.fm
With the success of their first single/music video Summertime Feelin' and now their up-and-coming Hip Hop/Roots-Reggae vibes of their second single Mamma Said there is no doubt that they have something extra special.
Their latest album release Life Wheel Elixir will forever change the way people perceive Australian Hip Hop, with Sherlok's authentic & honest lyrics, and the innovative quality production skills of DJ Rubz.
